Skincare Edit | Garnier Oil - Infused Cleansing Water

I could not be more in love with Micellar Waters. They’re so fuss free and easy to remove make-up; they’ve become such a crucial step to my bedtime skincare routine.

Over the last few months, I’ve tried many different Micellar Waters, my favourite being the Garnier one for combination skin, as it doesn’t dry out my skin and leaves it feeling thoroughly cleansed. However, the other version for sensitive skin (the one in the pink bottle) irritated my eyes and made them really red and sore. Thankfully, Garnier have introduced a newest member to the Micellar Water family, this time for dry skin so I had to try it.

The Garnier Oil-Infused Micellar Water is specifically designed for dry and sensitive skin, which sounds like something made for me and my dry skin woes! The Micellar Water is separated from the oil product which sits beautifully on top; all you need to do is shake it up to use.

Initially, I was put off by its extremely oily feel; I expected it to be watered down slightly due to the mass amount of water. The scent is beautiful and not too overwhelming, which is important for a face product. Most importantly, the oil-enriched formula cut through make-up so easily, better than the other Micellar Waters from Garnier. Eyeliner and mascara came off like a dream! However, at the end of application my skin was left feeling overly oily which I didn’t like. My face felt very greasy to touch and the product just sat on my skin rather than nourishing it, which I found disappointing.

After a few days of use my skin seemed to break out a little, small blemishes around my nose and mouth. I think this could be due to using this product as I haven’t added anything new into my skincare routine. Although, that being said, this could be a good thing? The Micellar Water is cleaning the dirt and bacteria out of my pores, which has resulted in a little breakout. I’m hoping this will clear up after some use.

Overall, I did enjoy using this product but I’m having a few teething issues at the moment so I’m hoping to work my through these! I absolutely loved the way it cut through make-up, this makes bedtime come around a lot quicker too! The price of this product is £5.99, so only £1 more expensive than the other Micellar Waters in the range and for its cleaning power, it's definitely worth the extra £1.

Out of 10, I would probably give this product five. Shop it here

I’d love to hear what you thought about this product.

Skincare Edit: L'Oreal Pure Clay Detox Mask Review

Getting a clay facial is probably a highlight of any spa trip but now we can get well and truly pampered in the comfort of our own homes, in our PJs and catching up on your favourite series on Netflix. All thanks to the beauty giants, L’Oreal, who just launched three new clay masks to give us that spa experience without the expensive price tag.

Each mask is targeted for a specific skin type:

  •  For oily skin: The Purify Clay Mask with Eucalyptus which helps to mattify oily skin
  •  For dull skin: The Glow Clay Mask with Red Algae to exfoliate and illuminate skin
  • For normal skin: The Detox Clay Mask with Charcoal to draw out impurities

I decided to buy the Detox Mask for normal skin as I was in need of a thorough cleanse and this works to suck out all the dirt and oil from your pores. It’s creamy and rich in texture and easy to apply. I applied a light layer to the face avoiding the eyes and mouth and left it on for 10 minutes.

Afterward, my skin did feel noticeably cleaner and my pores smaller however my skin did feel tight and quite dry. I would say this is a down side, although this could be due to leaving the mask on for slightly longer than the allotted time (12 mins instead of 10).

Overall, this product was fun and easy to use and no doubt my skin reaped the benefits of a good detox mask. I have definitely incorporated this into my Sunday night-time routine, even though I’ll be scrubbing the clay out of my hair line until Tuesday!

What’s your favourite clay mask?

Wednesday Wishlist | Spring Beauty 2016

Wednesday Wishlist | Beauty Spring 2016

Wednesday Wishlist | Beauty Spring 2016 by nancycamp1 featuring a liquid eyeliner

Happy Wednesday guys!

I hope you all had fabulous Bank Holiday weekends, now for a four day week...woo.

It's Wednesday Wishlist time again, this week is Spring beauty themed. This is my favourite time of year and always a good season to update your make-up collection with bright shades of blushers and shadows.

I have been lusting after all of these items for while and sadly some of them are only available in the US thanks to Sephora. But luckily, I have a work friend coming back from the US and bringing me a few bits. So for the first time, I might actually own some of these products!

The first thing is the Too Faced Sweetheart Blush, in Sparkling Bellini, which I'm very excited for. It's the perfect blush for Spring and Summer in the beautiful coral shade. This gorgeous new range has sold so well in the US but it's almost impossible to get over here as they only sell it online at Debenhams.  Also, in the same range, The Sweet Peach Palette, has sold out everywhere and only now available on eBay and Amazon at an exceptional price. So this one is definitely going to remain on my Wishlist for the foreseeable future.

Of course the Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kit is at the top of my list but another hard-to-get product. They sell out almost immediately online making it almost impossible to own. Dolce K has to be my favourite, I'm a sucker for pinky nudes.

I've been looking to buy a foundation more suitable for Spring and I have read such great things about the Charlotte Tilbury, Magic Foundation, from coverage to the 'dewy' glow it gives.

What's on your wishlist?

Beauty Edit | Three Best Matte Red Lipsticks for Valentine’s Day

The perfect red lipstick is so hard to find. With so many hues, shades and finishes it’s almost impossible to find the perfect red lip for the most romantic day of the year.

My favourite red lip has to have a matte finish – its super long lasting, on trend and used with the correct lip liner it can transform any make-up look into a killer pout.

For today’s post, I’m going to run you through some of my favourite matte red lipsticks to rock on V-day with a mixture of products from drugstore to high-street.

Kate Moss’ Rimmel Matte Lipstick, Wine 107: £5.49

This is one of my favourite drug store lipsticks, EVER. I always have two of these on-the-go just in case. The dark wine colour is so special and still to this day I am yet to find a high-end alternative with a similar hue and finish. It’s really long lasting and isn’t drying, which is really important in a matte lipstick. It also smells of water melons, which is a massive bonus! I think this shade is perfect for Valentine’s and for the winter season due to its dark wine tone. Teamed with a cat eye flick and a smokey eye – you’ve got a great look for date night.

MAC Retro, Ruby Woo: £15.50

Ruby Woo is one of my favourite bright red lipsticks. It’s the perfect colour pop and the one and only statement red lips on the beauty scene. It is very long lasting, the only downside being it is very drying. I tend to apply a lip balm before application to combat this. I have been using Charlotte Tilbury’s Lip Magic, before my lip liner, which does help to moisturise. Other than that, there aren’t any other problems with this shade. It’s my turn-to for outfits that need a burst of colour, the Christmas period and of course for Valentine’s Day. I like to use this with a gold sparkly eye and doll-like eyelashes for the perfect dinner date.

Charlotte Tilbury’s Matte Revolution, Red Carpet Red: £23.00

This is one red lipstick that only comes out at special occasions and of course Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse. It’s the most expensive on the list but one of my favourite brands, EVER. The creamy and velvet consistency is an absolute dream to apply. It’s slightly darker in shade compared to, Mac Ruby Woo, but so much more luxurious and not drying on the lips. Its rose gold packaging is truly beautiful and makes it stand out amongst the rest. If you’re looking for a staple red lipstick for your make-up collection then this is the one for you. Team this with heavy liquid eyeliner for a movie night holding hands.

Beauty Crush | October Wishlist by nancycamp1 featuring Kiehl's

So pay-day is just round the corner and I've put together this little skincare wishlist. Now, I love a good wishlist but this month I have put together an ‘affordable’ wishlist for the upcoming month – this is due to my recent (and crazy) desire to save money.

I’ve wanted the Pixi Glow Tonic (£18) for a while after reading some amazing reviews. I think this product would fit nicely into my updated skincare routine as I am missing a toner. As it gently exfoliates and tightens pores – I think this would be a great final step before bed.

Next is the Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream (£24) this has featured on many blogs/vlogs as a Holy Grail product. As some of you may know, I suffer from really dry skin so finding out about a new moisturiser with some great reviews is really exciting.

Finally, is the Nip + Fab Exfoliate Glycolic Fix Night Pads (£8.45) my sister introduced me to these and they have been on my wishlist ever since. Again, this is another great skincare step before bed. I’m really excited to try these – purely because of their amazing smell.
